BREDA, The Netherlands -- Two leading contractors in the offshore power and umbilicals sectors have signed a five-year cooperation agreement to provide turnkey solutions for major cable-related and wind farm projects. Tideway B.V. in the Netherlands and Norway's Oceanteam Power & Umbilical ASA will work together on a worldwide basis.
The joint tendering on a mutually exclusive basis will enable the companies to tender for complete turnkey solutions for large and complex offshore subsea power and cable installation projects, Tideway says.
Tideway specializes in landfall construction, fall pipe stone-dumping for offshore protection, dredging, and wind farm installation works.
Oceanteam formerly established a cooperation agreement with ABB, which was recently awarded the contract for BRITNED, to link the British and Dutch power grids. Oceanteam has received a letter of intent for the BRITNED cable lay. The company also is an exclusive installation partner to ABB on the Statoil Gjøa development.
