DUBLIN, Ireland --Ireland's government has granted Providence Resources an extension to its 05/3 licensing option in the St George's Channel through end-March 2008.

The company has a 100% working interest in this acreage, which includes Apollo, a large oil exploration prospect, within a Jurassic tilted fault block in the southwest part of the St George's Channel basin.

The location is 60 km (37.29 mi) from Providence's recent appraisal well on Hook Head, which is currently under test.
