ATLANTA, Georgia -- AMEC has acquired CADE-IDEPE, the largest independent Chilean engineering services company. CADE-IDEPE, which employs 540 people and is based in Santiago, Chile, provides engineering solutions for natural resources and power and process clients in Chile and throughout South America.

"This strategic and exciting acquisition will provide AMEC with both a high quality engineering base in the fast growing South American market and a high-value engineering center to support our rapidly growing Natural Resources and Power and Process businesses in North America," says Samir Brikho, AMEC chief executive. "This is consistent with our strategy of seeking capacity and geographical expansion within our core energy, power, and process markets."

"We are excited to join AMEC," says Lautaro Carcamo Zilveti, president of CADE-IDEPE. "We have enjoyed a long and profitable relationship with AMEC and we see opportunity to continue growing our domestic business and becoming more active in exporting our services internationally."
