Statoil, Hydro merger date set

STAVANGER, Norway – The Statoil and Hydro merger of oil and gas activities is expected to be implemented before markets open on Oct. 1, 2007, according to reports from Statoil.

Norsk Hydro ASA will demerge its oil and gas activities which will subsequently be merged with Statoil ASA. From this point, the company name will be StatoilHydro ASA.
