ABERDEEN, UK --Talisman Energy expects its Wood and Gas Export project in the UK North Sea to start up shortly, building to a peak rate of 10,000 boe/d.

In the same area, close to its Montrose/Arbroath facilities, the company has drilled a successful exploratory well on the Cayley prospect. The well tested 29.7 MMcf/d of gas and 2,854 b/d of condensate. A down dip sidetrack is under way to determine the extent of the find.

Talisman also has completed development wells on the Affleck, Arbroath, and Tartan North fields, and two more on the Claymore field incorporating through-tubing rotary drilling, the aim being to reduce the cost of infill drilling.
