CB&I re-engaged for Buzzard engineering

THE WOODLANDS, Tx --Nexen Petroleum UK has engaged CB&I for topsides detailed design engineering and procurement analysis for its Buzzard field development in the central North Sea.
The $100 million contract relates to a proposed new platform to strip out hydrogen sulfide produced with Buzzard's hydrocarbons. CB&I also provided engineering design and procurement for the first three platforms, when the issue of H2S was not foreseen.
Nexen has applied to the UK government for approval for this project, the new facility likely installed and commissioned by mid-summer 2010.
