ODIM acquires crane, winch operations

ODIM ASA has agreed to acquire ABAS Crane and Aker Brattvaag Winch for NOK 80 million ($14.77 million). The combination will allow ODIM to offer complete deepwater handling systems, the company says.

HAREID, Norway –ODIM ASA has agreed to acquire ABAS Crane and Aker Brattvaag Winch for NOK 80 million ($14.77 million). The combination will allow ODIM to offer complete deepwater handling systems, the company says.

"This acquisition pro- actively adds substantial capacity and expertise to help realize the full potential within this important market area," says Jogeir Romestrand, ODIM CEO. "The combination of our unique ODIM CTCU technology and ABAS Crane's offshore cranes will make our customers extremely effective for the installation phase in deepwater."

ODIM is acquiring the two companies from Aker's wholly- owned Aker Capital subsidiary.
