PTTEP revises 2007-2011 spending

Thailand's upstream company PTT Exploration and Production Public Co. Ltd. (PTTEP) has revised its estimated capital expenditure and operating expenditure for 2007-2011 to $7.9 billion.

BANGKOK, Thailand -- Thailand's upstream company PTT Exploration and Production Public Co. Ltd. (PTTEP) has revised its estimated capital expenditure and operating expenditure for 2007-2011 to $7.9 billion, incorporating the latest work programs of its upstream projects.

PTTEP classified its 34 projects in three categories:
• Major projects under production include Bongkot, S1, B8/32 and 9A and Pailin
• Major projects under development that will start production in the future include Arthit, Arthit North, Vietnam 9-2, and the Malaysia Thailand Joint Development Authority (MTJDA)
• Major exploration projects include Myanmar M7 and M9, Algeria 433a and 416b, and Vietnam 16-1 project

The upstream unit of the Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) has planned a capex of Bt57.28 billion ($1.6 billion) on opex of Bt17.23 billion ($482 million) for this year.

Next year's capex and opex will be Bt53.31 billion ($1.5 billion) and Bt18.48 billion ($517 million), followed by Bt38.05 billion ($1.06 billion) and Bt20.84 billion ($583 million) in 2009, Bt23.05 billion ($645 million) and Bt20.51 billion ($574 million) in 2010, and Bt19.82 billion ($555 million) and Bt16.17 billion ($453 million) in 2011.
