SINGAPORE -- Duffy and McGovern Accommodation Services has announced deals worth more than $140,000 in Southeast Asia and Australasia. The firm's newly relocated Singapore division is filling orders from its offices at The Franklin, close to the Jurong port in Tuas industrial park.
DMAS' distribution hub at Pandan Loop, Jurong province in Singapore, has a stock of more than 40 modules, which will rise to over 70 by the end of the year, underlining the firm's commitment to the region.
Duffy and McGovern is the only offshore module specialist in the region capable of supplying units that meet the latest ABS, SOLAS, and IMO regulations and are DNV approved at short notice and to any configuration, the company says.
Canyon Offshore has rented a standalone four-man accommodation module for the platform jacket inspection and survey work it is carrying out for the for PTT Exploration and Production Co. Ltd.
Atwood Oceanics has taken an eight-man accommodation unit for use on the Vicksburg cantilever jackup rig, carrying out drilling operations off Thailand for Chevron, on a six-month contract with options.
Fugro Surveys Pte. has contracted a 10-man sleeping complex for staff carrying out subsea cable work in the South China Sea on a minimum three-month deal worth more than $25,000.
Duffy and McGovern counts Singapore as one of three global hubs alongside operations in Aberdeen in the UK, and Broussard, Louisiana, in the US where it operates under the name of parent firm HB Rentals.
DMAS was acquired by HB Rentals owner Superior Energy Services in Jan. 2007.
