CNOOC taps Aker Kværner for drilling hardware

The China National Offshore Oil Corp. has contracted Aker Kværner to supply drilling equipment and systems for an ultra deepwater semisubmersible drilling unit for $128 million.

LYSAKER, Norway –The China National Offshore Oil Corp. has contracted Aker Kværner to supply drilling equipment and systems for an ultra deepwater semisubmersible drilling unit for $128 million.

Aker Kvaerner MH in Kristiansand will deliver the drilling equipment package, installation, and commissioning supervision. The rig is scheduled for delivery in 1Q 2011.
