STAVANGER, Norway --The new company arising from the merger of Statoil and Hydro likely will be named StatoilHydro. This is the recommendation of the two companies' boards to their respective shareholders.
Aside from visual presentation and logos, the two sets of directors are also working on a business strategy. All proposals will be presented at the new company's first ordinary general meeting in 2008.
In line with previous decisions, the merged group's business areas will be managed from Bergen, Oslo, and Stavanger.
