HOUSTON --SBM Offshore is combining two of its Houston-based groups, Atlantia Offshore Ltd. and SBM-Imodco Inc., in order to further strengthen its floating production facility capabilities.
The new company will be called, SBM Atlantia, and will be based in Houston.
"Atlantia and SBM-Imodco have been working closely together on major floating production projects since early 2005, and it has proven to be a very successful experience," says Tony Mace, president of SBM Offshore. Mace will transfer to the company's office in Monaco.
"In view of this experience and in anticipation of further major projects to be executed within this office, we decided to combine the two companies into one unit to simplify the management structure and further combine the strengths of both groups," says Bernard van Leggelo, president of SBM-Imodco.
