SCHIEDAM, The Netherlands – Huisman has opened its latest production hall in China.

The new hall is the company’s largest to date, measuring 205 m (672 ft) long, 54 m (177 ft) wide, and 62 m (203 ft) high. This height, and the 2,000-mt (2,204-t) internal hoisting capacity, allows the facility to assemble products vertically, allowing it to handle a wide range of products.

Huisman expanded its operations to Fujian (Xiamen area) in 2007. Huisman China has since delivered a 90-m (295-ft) stinger and over 20 cranes, including three 800-metric ton (882-ton) heavy-lift mast cranes and various 300-metric ton (330-ton) pedestal-mounted offshore cranes. More cranes are currently under construction at the facility, including the 5,000-metric ton (5,511-ton) offshore mast crane for Acergy’s multi-purpose vessel Borealis.

Huisman China has 17 production halls, a shot blasting and painting hall, and a maintenance facility, which also accommodates a welding school. A separate shot blasting and painting facility is also available. The site is also accessible for seagoing vessels with access to heavy-lift capacity, allowing onboard equipment installation.
