ACCRA, Ghana -- MS Industrial Services’ Group has established a subsidiary in Ghana.

MSIS West Africa will be 95% owned by MSIS and 5% by Ghanaian business development group Research Development and Financial Consultants, which will help MSIS develop its services for operators and sub-contractors in the region. MSIS is a Scottish industrial cleaning and environmental waste management specialist.

Operating from a base in Sekondi-Takoradi, the subsidiary will offer MSIS’ full range of services and equipment.

Earlier in 2010 MSIS won a two-year, £1.5-million ($2.3-million) contract from oil and gas service company TETRA Technologies to provide pit cleaning equipment and personnel to support TETRA’s Ghana operations.

MSIS’ Chairman Chris Lloyd said: “Ghana offers a stable environment with excellent facilities and links to nearby countries such as Nigeria and the Ivory Coast which feature existing oil and gas operations as well as being a good communications facility for the wider African market.”
