GE opens base in Baku

GE Oil & Gas has opened a $6-million facility south of Baku to serve the Caspian region.

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN -- GE Oil & Gas has opened a $6-million facility south of Baku to serve the Caspian region.
The facility, which will employ 14 local personnel by year-end, will provide GE’s range of drilling and production equipment repair, maintenance, and refurbishment services.

It comprises two covered warehouses, two heavy-duty overhead cranes, an outside storage area, and office space. GE will offer maintenance and repair of a wide assortment of drilling and production equipment at the center, including subsea wellheads, controls, connectors, and subsea trees.
