Norwegian fabricator Aibel plans to open a branch office in Harstad to support its new maintenance contract for Statoil’s Norne field facilities in the Norwegian Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway -- Norwegian fabricator Aibel plans to open a branch office in Harstad to support its new maintenance contract for Statoil’s Norne field facilities in the Norwegian Sea.
This will become the company’s eighth branch along the Norwegian west coast. Jarle Habbestad will manage the operation, which will have 40 staff plus specialists for prefabrication work.
Following the Norne award, Aibel also formed a collaboration agreement with local company Momek to act as its subcontractor.
