MARKNESSE, the Netherlands -- BMT Argoss has introduced a year-round, 24-hour maritime weather forecasting service designed to support operations such as platform installations and maintenance, near-shore cable lay, dredging works, ship to ship transfers, LNG terminal operations, and port monitoring.
Its newly opened operating center will employ in-house numerical modeling at global, regional, and local scales, along with satellite observations and in-situ real-time measurements.
BMT Argoss tailors its forecasting services to client requirements and says its model systems are routinely and continuously calibrated and validated against independent observations.
It can also provide forecasters licensed to work on site, which it says can be useful for offshore operations such as derrick replacements or the installation of wellhead protectors to enhance operational efficiency and cut safety risks.
