Hostages taken offshore Nigeria

A security breach at the High Island VII jackup offshore and also its AT 101 support vessel in Nigeria at Okoro field has resulted in two crew members being evacuated to a shore-based clinic and five others taken hostage, says Afren Plc.

LONDON – A security breach at the High Island VII jackup offshore and also its AT 101 support vessel in Nigeria at Okoro field has resulted in two crew members being evacuated to a shore-based clinic and five others taken hostage, says Afren Plc.

Afren says it and indigenous partner AMNI International are working with the authorities, and that the vessel and rig are under control of the company.
