STAVANGER -- Offshore fabricator Grenland Group has signed a letter of intent to acquire Bergen-based contractor CIC Engineering.

CIC Engineering, formed in 1989, provides project management, engineering and installation services for electrical/automation applications in the oil and gas sector. Grenland plans to relocate the company and its 23 employees to its new office complex in Bergen, as part of the Grenland Group Offshore Partner division.

“Our investment in Bergen is the result of our work focused on becoming a competitive supplier of maintenance and modification work on the Norwegian Continental Shelf,” says Grenland Group CEO Hallgeir Skogen. “We are already well established on the west coast of Norway, in Stavanger and Skudeneshavn, and with this investment in Bergen we will strengthen our presence close to our customers’ operational and project organizations.”
