ABERDEEN -- Challenger Minerals North Sea (CMNS) has signed an agreement to farm into the Xcite Energy-operated Bentley heavy oil field in the UK sector.
CMNS, a subsidiary of Transocean Drilling UK, will provide $4 million towards its share of the costs of the planned 9/3b-R well on Bentley this summer. In exchange, it will gain a 4% working interest, allowing it to participate in the license prior to the first-phase development project.
