Offshore staff
(Asia-Pacific) - Five international companies have submitted bids for six of the 11 offshore blocks offered by the Timor - Leste government when the deadline closed on 19 April 19, 2006.
ENI, Petronas Carigali, Petrobras, GALP Exploração e Produção Petrolífera, and Reliance Industries Ltd. have individually and in consortia submitted bids for contract areas A, B, C, E, H, and K.
"The bids show that Timor - Leste offshore area is internationally competitive, and that in a short period of time Timor - Leste has been able to attract the confidence of recognized international E&P companies," says Prime Minister and Minister for Natural Resources, Minerals and Energy policy, Mari Alkatiri.
Production sharing contracts are expected to be signed before June 20, 2006.
