Offshore staff

(US) - Shell has extended the firm contract period for use of the Prosafe-operated semisubmersible service/ accommodation rigSafe Scandinavia at the Shell-operated Mars TLP for a term of five months.

The value of the amended contract period including mobilization and demobilization, net of any taxes, is approximately $26.8 million. Shell has a further two 14-day options available.

Prosafe says this contract demonstrates the strength of the accommodation and service rig market. The company still has three vessels available for most of 2007 and 2008.
