HOUSTON -- Chevron has awarded Mustang a contract to perform front-end engineering design (FEED) for topsides facilities on the Jack & St. Malo project in the Gulf of Mexico.
Jack & St. Malo will be a floating semisubmersible production facility with an initial nameplate capacity between 120,000 and 150,000 b/d of oil, 37.5 MMcf/d gas, and provisions for a future 200,000 b/d of water injection.
The FEED, which will be performed by a peak staff of almost 70, started in the second quarter, with completion expected in 2Q 2010. Mustang completed pre-FEED services for the project in the first quarter of this year.
