PTTEP gains block G4/48 interest

BANGKOK -- PTTEP (Thailand) has been granted approval to participate in the Petroleum Concession Block G4/48.
Concession block G4/48, which covers an area of approximately 504 sq km (195 sq mi), is adjacent to the Unocal 3 Project in the Gulf of Thailand. Chevron Pattani (the operator) holds 71.25% interest; Mitsui Oil Exploration Co. (Moeco) and PTTEP (Thailand) hold 23.75% and 5% interests, respectively.
The companies plan to develop the block using the existing facilities from the Unocal 3 project.
