HOUSTON -- An unnamed operator is looking to farm out part of its interest in a deepwater block with multi-Bboe potential, west of Palawan Island, offshore the Philippines, according to IndigoPool.
The block is on trend with a number of discoveries and large producing oil and gas fields, the company says. There are several play types on the block, all with proven analogs in the trend. One of the mapped-out leads exhibits a Direct Hydrocarbon Indicator (DHI). The operator is preparing to move ahead with a 3D survey to better quantify the full potential of the block, rank prospects, and to formulate a plan for drilling in 2011.
