PAPENDRECHT, The Netherlands -- Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has contracted Lamnalco for 10 years of support service, under a $124-million contract.

CPC operates the pipeline and associated infrastructure linking the oil fields of western Kazakhstan with a marine terminal close to Novorossiysk on the Russian Black Sea coast. Oil is exported via two offshore single buoy moorings.

Lamnalco, a subsidiary of Royal Boskalis Westminster, will provide a package of services, including a permanent on-site diving team for maintenance of the SBMs, and comprehensive oil spill response. This will entail deployment of a fleet of 15 vessels, with 170 full-time staff based mostly ashore, the majority recruited locally.
