GE to open new training facility in Houston

HOUSTON – GE Energy (NYSE: GE) has invested $10 million for the development of a new oil and gas training facility in Houston. Scheduled to open in 4Q 2012, the 50,000-sq ft (4,645-m) facility will be located at the company’s Drilling Systems Technology Center. The company also is creating approximately 100 new technical jobs in Houston to support the Drilling Systems business.
GE says training at the facility will focus on customer, technical, and leadership skills aimed to meet the changing needs and growing global demand for drilling technologies.
