AMEC Samsung Oil and Gas LLC (ASOG) will be based in Houston, and will be 51% owned by Samsung and 49% by AMEC. Initially it will be staffed by specialist staff seconded from the parent companies, but it will also recruit externally. The target is to employ up to 500 personnel by 2018.
Samsung intends to use the new company for future front-end engineering design and detail design of offshore projects.
