ABU DHABI -- GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies opened its first dedicated calibration, repair, and training service center in Abu Dhabi today at the CERT Technology Park. The new facility will serve all Gulf countries outside Saudi Arabia.
The new Abu Dhabi service center will offer calibration equipment for pressure and moisture sensors for the oil and gas sectors, and will be the only resource in the region capable of calibrating GE's range of moisture meters, the company said. It also will provide on-site repair of these products and will be able to upgrade existing equipment.
Typical non-destructive testing courses that will cover the use of GE's ultrasonic, remote visual inspection, radiography, and eddy current equipment will be offered. The center will be a base for GE's field services.
"GE is proud to be added to the impressive list of national and multinational corporations on the CERT technology park," said Brian Hempenstall, regional service manager MEA for GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies. "It is ideally located in the Gulf, which is one of the most important oil and petrochemical regions in the world. This is an industrial sector that relies very heavily on sensing instrumentation for pressure, temperature moisture, gas, and flow"
