LoneStar Marine to build OPTI-EX living quarters

Exmar Offshore has contracted with LoneStar Marine Shelters to design and fabricate a 506-ton (459-metric ton) living quarters/control room building including a helideck and 55-ton (50-metric ton) workshop/storage building for its $300-million OPTI-EX deepwater semisubmersible floating production platform.

HOUSTON -- Exmar Offshore has contracted with LoneStar Marine Shelters to design and fabricate a 506-ton (459-metric ton) living quarters/control room building including a helideck and 55-ton (50-metric ton) workshop/storage building for its $300-million OPTI-EX deepwater semisubmersible floating production platform.

The living quarters package and the workshop/storage building are scheduled to be barged to the Kiewit fabrication yard in 1Q 2008. The OPTI-EX hull is currently under construction at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea. Delivery is expected in 1Q 2009.
