NORFOLK, UK -- Acteon has acquired an 80% stake in Brazilian mooring and anchoring equipment specialist Fluke Engenharia.

"Fluke is an exciting acquisition for us," says Richard Higham, group chief executive of Acteon. "The company has an important position in the Brazilian deepwater market through having established a strong track record with the Brazilian state-run oil company, Petrobras. Not only will the deal increase our geographical footprint, it will also expand our global mooring offering as we gain access to Fluke's high-tech engineering expertise and facilities."

Antonio Manuel Ferreira dos Santos Filho will continue as general director of Fluke along with the existing management team.
