ABERDEEN, UK -- Triton Group has formed a new company, VMAX Technologies, to lead the sale and development of simulation software for subsea operations.

The VMAX business will operate out of Florida, Houston, Aberdeen, Macae, and Singapore. The company expects to employ up to 30 people by the end of 2009.

VMAX Technologies' core product line is centered on physics-based simulation software -- users will be able to create and test their own real-time subsea scenarios to run through projects from bid phase through to actual installation in a completely virtual environment. These scenarios can be used for design, training, marketing, validation, and operational risk reduction, the company says.

"The goal of VMAX Technologies is simple: give the customer complete control of the simulation experience," says Terry Lease, GM. "The VMAX project simulator is designed to be flexible and adaptable to many industries and has been proven to help reduce risk, increase efficiency of operations and create an overall reduction in project costs."
