HELSINKI -- Cargotec's MacGREGOR business area has received orders from China worth nearly $42 million for 10 shipsets of cranes, hatch covers, and fixed container fittings.

Six of the ships are 9,500-dwt multipurpose cargo and container vessels ordered by a European owner from Yangfan Group Co. The other four are 18,000-dwt multipurpose vessels ordered by an undisclosed European owner from Wuhu Xinlian Shipbuilding.

For both series, MacGREGOR is supplying hatch cover design and key components for high-stowing Foldtite-type weatherdeck hatch covers and liftaway-type tweendeck covers. Also included in MacGREGOR's supply are fixed container securing equipment for deck and holds, hydraulic control systems, and deck stanchions.

The six 9,500-dwt ships on order at Yangfan Group will each carry two GLH heavy-lift cranes with an SWL range of between 200 metric tons (220 tons) at an outreach of 15 m (48 ft) and 100 metric tons (110 tons) at 26 m (85 ft), with a 35-metric ton (39-ton) at 35 m (115 ft) whip hoist.

The four 18,000-dwt multipurpose vessels on order at Wuhu Xinlian will employ three MacGREGOR GL cranes each, with SWLs of between 80 metric tons (88 tons) at 19 m (62 ft) outreach and 40 metric tons (44 tons) at 36 m (118 ft). Both series of ships will use MacGREGOR's CC2000 crane control system.

The equipment will be delivered between 2010 and 2011.
