CALGARY, Canada -- Nexen has awarded weather forecasting specialists Nowcasting International a €300,000 ($382,944) contract to support its North Sea operations.

Nowcasting will provide high resolution weather data and detailed meteorological and oceanographic services to help maximize Nexen's operations outputs, the company says.
