SINGAPORE -- Emerson has opened the Asia Flow Technology Center in Nanjing, China.

The 12,500-sq m (134,549-sq ft) facility expands production capacity and services for Emerson Process Management's flow metering and measurement technologies that serve the oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, marine, life sciences, food and beverage, metals and mining, and pulp and paper industries.

The center features one of the highest accuracy flow calibration laboratories in the region, the company says. Calibration facilities can accommodate measurement devices from a tenth of 1 in. (2 mm) to 40 in. (1,000 mm).

In addition, the facility will offer quality testing capabilities including X-ray, dye penetrant, positive metal identification, hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, electronics diagnostic testing, and electronics calibration.

The facility also includes a hands-on training and interactive demonstration center to support regional customers.

"We are strongly committed to China and to serving our customers in Asia from Asia," says Steve Sonnenberg, Emerson Process Management president and business leader.

"The Asia Flow Technology Center substantially enhances our ability to offer technologies that deliver value and unparalleled plant performance for our customers."
