Northern Petroleum gains preliminary award offshore Italy

LONDON -- Northern Petroleum has received preliminary award of offshore Italian license d60F.R-.NP. The company has begun an environmental impact study of the 742 sq km (286 sq mi) in Durres basin.

The award is adjacent to FR39.NP and FR.40.NP and two other preliminary awarded offshore licenses. The d60, d61 and d149 licences are seen as having considerable potential with a number of leads and prospects already identified, according to the company.
