HOUSTON – Technip has contracted SPT Energy Group to provide end dimensioning services for Shell’s BC-10 Phase 2 project.
SPT will use STARR Network Solutions to measure more than 3,700 joints as well as perform pipe groupings and SCR Array Mapping at the Technip Spoolbase in Mobile, Alabama.
According to SPT, the STARR End Measurement System electronically captures internal diameter and wall thickness measurements. The collected data is then applied to determine wall thickness and/or ovality anomalies. SPT’s project started in October and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011.
The Shell BC-10 Phase 2 project will develop the fourth of five fields, located in the Campos basin, offshore Espirito Santo, Brazil.
