HOUSTON– Axiom was the biggest winner at the 2011 Business Marketing Association Houston’s Lantern Awards held on Nov. 15 at The Petroleum Club. Axiom received the "Best of Show" Award along with their client, Cameron, plus eight prestigious "Best in Category" Lantern Awards and 33 Medals of Excellence.
The Lantern Awards annually recognize top-quality creative and strategic business-to-business communications. The "Best of Show" accolade — given to only one project — honored Axiom and Cameron's tradeshow campaign, themed "Discover Cameron." Discover Cameron was also awarded four other Lanterns in categories including Interactive Presentation, Online Advertising, Package Design and Illustration.
Axiom's social media marketing campaign won a Lantern with a website documenting the restoration of the old Fire Station No. 6.
"The win in the Social Media Marketing Campaign category is especially gratifying," said Tom Hair, president of Axiom. "It recognizes our efforts to build excitement while documenting the restoration of a 100-year-old fire station into Axiom's new home."
Additional Lantern Awards were given for Axiom's work on Gardner Denver's Hoffman Revolution website and a marketing strategy profile for Kelman Data Management.
Axiom's 33 Medals of Excellence demonstrated the company's broad marketing and creative capabilities, with projects for clients including Basic Energy Services, Cameron, Gardner Denver, Halliburton, INOVA Geophysical, LLOG, Microsoft, NEOS, NiSource Gas Transmission and Storage, Office Pavilion, Reliance Steel & Aluminum Company, and Vortex Ventures.
Awards went to Axiom in the categories of Interactive Presentation, Online Advertising, Package Design, Illustration, E-mail Campaign, Internal Website/Intranet, Sales Brochures, Total Communications and Qualitative and/or Quantitative Research Project.
