STAVANGER, Norway – Eni Norge has contracted IOS InterMoor for two mooring spreads to support development drilling in the Barents Sea.

The three-year contract relates to theGoliat oil field project. IOS InterMoor will provide the rig moorings and services including equipment rental, service and repair, along with personnel for mooring operations.

This spring the company will accordingly invest in new equipment, staff, and facilities in Hammerfest, northern Norway. The aim is to ensure safe and effective mob/demobilization of mooring equipment on and off dedicated anchor handling vessels.

IOS InterMoor will supply the mooring spreads for pre-laying, an approach it says leads to improved safety and integrity and cost savings, particularly in rig moves, as it cuts the time a rig spends not drilling.
