COPENHAGEN, Denmark– WellPerform has acquired Chris Dykes International Ltd.
Established by Chris Dykes in 2002, the company provides well examination services to a range of oil and gas operators and service companies in the UK and overseas including Apache, Premier Oil, Centrica Energy, Centrica Storage Ltd. (Rough), Petrogas, Senergy, SPD, and AGR.
The new regulatory environment created by the introduction of theEU Offshore Safety Directive, presents a significant European growth opportunity for Chris Dykes International.
The directive requires all European countries to have existing and new wells examined by an independent competent person throughout the complete well life cycle, from initial design through to final abandonment. This has been a requirement for wells in the UK since 1996.
Chris Dykes International will continue to trade as a standalone organization with complete independence from the WellPerform well management business.
Les Browne has been appointed managing director of Chris Dykes International. Chris Dykes will continue in his current role as technical director and principal well examiner.
