WALLSEND, UK – Coatings specialist Barrier Group has acquired Dubai-based ship repair company Seven Seas Ship Maintenance and Repair (SSSMAR).
The UAE company, formed in 1994, owns a 1,000-sq m (10.764-sq ft) manufacturing complex in Al Jaddaf. It holds ISO9000 – ISO4000 and ISO18000 quality accreditations.
As the renamed Barrier SSSMAR it will offer passive fire protection services, architectural, painting and insulation project work.
In addition, 20 local staff will be trained to manufacture Barrier’s Jet Fire-rated thermal enclosures and jackets, designed to protect valves, pipework, and structural steel.
