Two production technology specialists in Britain, Vienco and AGT Energy, have formed a new company specializing in optimized flow of heavy oil and waxy crudes. The new venture, OilFlow, will be based in Vienco's headquarters in Aberdeen, while research and development will be centered in Bradford, northern England. OilFlow will market systems based on a patented core chemistry discovered by scientists at Bradford University, and further developed by AGT for oilfield application.

The first systems to be commercialized will be Proflux 200 and Proflux 300. The former is designed to reduce the viscosity of low API heavy oil from a thick, slow-flowing liquid to a free-flowing state. The latter stabilizes waxy crudes, allowing them to be pumped at temperatures well below their original pour point.
