CRC-Evans has been awarded a contract to provide automatic welding equipment for Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. on the Third Transmission Pipeline Project in the Gulf of Thailand. Pipeline owner is PTT Public Company Ltd. Weld procedure qualifications were completed in July, and Hyundai began welding work in August.

(Thailand)-CRC-Evans has been awarded a contract to provide automatic welding equipment for Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. on the Third Transmission Pipeline Project in the Gulf of Thailand. Pipeline owner is PTT Public Company Ltd. Weld procedure qualifications were completed in July, and Hyundai began welding work in August.
Total pipeline project length is 606 km, with a pipe diameter of 42-in. and wall thickness of 23.8 mm. CRC-Evans' contract includes providing automatic welding systems and related equipment for 414 km of the total length of pipe to be laid by Hyundai's double joint pipelay vessel, HD60.
CRC-Evans' contract also includes providing related equipment for the construction of 169 km of the total length of pipe to be laid by Hyundai's single joint pipelay vessel,HD2500. The P600 dual torch automatic welding machine is being used as the external welding machine in the CRC-Evans automatic welding system.
