(Norway)-Statoil has extended a contract with Roxar for the use of permanent downhole monitoring equipment to the end of 2007 Statoil says. The extension will be worth NOK 110-155 million.

The downhole devices allow the group to secure continuous information about pressure and temperature from a well or a reservoir. That in turn makes it easier to plan, manage, and exploit the field in the best possible way.

Initially awarded to Roxar in 2000, the contract also covers project planning, installation, and maintenance services.
