(Brazil)-British companies led by Scottish Development International and the British Energy Industries Council will meet with local and foreign oil companies operating in Brazil. According to local Brazil news service Agência Estado, the meetings will take place next week in cities in Rio de Janeiro state and Espírito Santo state, which are the main operating centers for the offshore Campos and Espírito Santo basins.
This five-day trip comes closely after a number of British firms won E&P and supply contracts in October's seventh hydrocarbons licensing round. In particular, Petrobras'P-52 semisubmersible platform saw a total of $101 million worth of supply contracts going to British firms.
Among the companies that won contracts forP-52 are Rolls-Royce Power, who will supply generation modules, and ETA Process Plant, who will provide natural gas transport equipment. Other winners include Veolia Water Systems for water re-injection units and Invsat for telecommunications equipment for the platform.
TheP-52 is located at the Roncador field in Campos basin, and is scheduled to start production during 1Q 2007, at a rate of 330 MMcf/d of natural gas.
