Marathon awards $350 million topsides contract

Marathon has chosen Vetco Aibel to supply the topsides for itsAlvheim FPSO in the Norwegian North Sea, under a $350 million contract. The award includes design and construction of production, separators, dehydration and gas compression, power generation, and water treatment equipment. During the engineering phase, Vetco Aibel's will execute work from its offices in Billingstad, with all fabrication, assemble, and commissioning being conducted at the company's yard in Haugesund. The FPSO will be completed in time for first oil in early 2007.
