Halliburton's Energy Services Group has been awarded a contract to provide its EZ-Gauge monitoring system technology on projects for Petrobras offshore Brazil.

The most used alternative to EZ-Gauge system technology is conventional electronic, permanent downhole gauges. According to Halliburton, the EZ-Gauge system is designed to reduce cost, improve reliability and improve longevity over conventional electronic systems.

All gauges have a life expectancy that varies according to the environment in which they are deployed and operate. The EZ-Gauge system is run in high temperature environments and requires resilient equipment that holds up over time and maintains the integrity of the data reported, Halliburton says.
