Cris Gaut, president of Halliburton’s drilling and evaluation division, has requested early retirement from the company. Gaut will be replaced by Tim Probert, who will retain his responsibilities for leading Halliburton’s technology, supply chain management, and mergers and acquisitions activity.
McDermott International has appointedStephen M. Johnson as president and COO. In this role, Johnson will hold primary responsibility for directing the day-to-day operations, implementation of the strategic objectives, and the R&D/technological initiatives for the company and its operating subsidiaries.
Sandvik Materials Technology has appointedHaydn Eagle as UK market manager – Tubular Products. He replaces Peter Rose, who has been appointed Sandvik EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) sales manager – Standard Products.

Fogg, who will also remain MD of the company’s Aberdeen office, will oversee the corporate management, growth, and commercial success of the company’s European oil and gas services. Pöyry’s offices in the UK, Norway, and Spain will report to him.
TGS-NOPEC Geophysical has appointedRobert Hobbs as CEO, effective in June. He replaces Hank Hamilton, who will continue with TGS as a non-executive advisor and will be proposed by the current nomination committee for election as the new chairman of TGS. The company’s current chairman and director, Claus Kampmann, is also retiring, effective in June.
Fluor Corp. has appointedPeter Oosterveer as group president of its energy and chemicals group. Oosterveer previously served as senior VP of the global chemicals and petrochemicals business from the firm’s Haarlem, Netherlands office.
Abermed has appointedRory Harrington as regional manager for Western Kazakhstan to lead the company’s expansion into the Caspian region. As well as putting in place structures and procedures to ensure the sustainability of the business, he will be developing the provision of field clinics and staffing at remote sites, the company says.
Noble Denton has appointedMichael Lowe as global business team group director, project management services, and Vernon Luning as president, Lowe Offshore International, US Project Management Services. In addition, Arthur Aragon, the present group director for project management services, will be appointed to Brazil to focus exclusively on opportunities for the company’s project services there.

Fugro has signed an agreement to acquire Interaction AS. Interaction specializes in marine electromagnetic data management, quality control, processing software and services. Interaction will operate under existing management and will form part of Fugro’s general geophysical services offering in its geoscience division.

M-I SWACO has acquired Chemtech. The company supplies a complete range of oilfield production chemicals and supporting services. It has products in production treating application segments including emulsion control, corrosion inhibition, scale prevention, paraffin control, gas hydrate inhibition, and solids dispersion.
Endeavour International has signed a definitive agreement to divest its Norwegian subsidiary, Endeavour Energy Norge, to Verbundnetz Gas for a cash consideration of $150 million. The transaction is subject to government approvals and regulatory compliance processes that are expected to be completed within 60 days.
Foster Wheeler USA Corp.has completed the acquisition of the assets of OPE Holdings’ offshore engineering division.
Noble Denton and Germanischer Lloyd have merged to form a fully integrated technical assurance and consulting company to serve the worldwide energy industries. The new entity will provide assurance, inspection, and consulting as well as project management. It will focus its worldwide services along the entire life cycle of oil and gas - upstream, midstream, and downstream, renewables, and energy installations onshore and offshore.
Sensornet, Swellfix, and Well Technology have created a parent company named Tendeka. The new company aims to consolidate specialist solutions for increased efficiency in well completions and production. Tendeka, through its three subsidiaries, employs 100 people across a network of 18 regional bases, located in hubs including the North Sea, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
