LONDON — The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) has appointed DNV to support its 82 member companies’ decarbonization initiatives.

IOGP claims the members produce 40% of the world’s oil and gas.

DNV will develop metrics, recommended practices, guidelines and methodologies, focusing on carbon capture and storage (CCS), electrification of oil and gas assets, reduced flaring and venting, energy efficiency and business cases for hydrogen.

“The upstream oil and gas industry is under mounting pressure to ensure an affordable and reliable energy supply while also decarbonizing at pace," said Ditlev Engel, CEO, Energy Systems, with DNV.
