Iport4business.com Inc. expanded a contract with Howco CA Metals Inc. with a commitment to provide a portal solution for Howco's global operations. At present, iport4business links Howco's information from the company's central database to remote business units and major customers. The expanded solution will combine elements of document management, service provision, sales force automation, order processing, inventory control, HR, and personnel and customer relationships through a single iport4business-driven portal.

"Iport4business is an obvious solution in an environment such as this where the legacy software is doing almost everything that is functionally required, but the quality of management information and integration to other systems is poor," Malcolm Howatt Jr., e-business manager at Howco, says. "Using iport4business, we can unlock the data and turn it into information and knowledge. This new investment will allow us to use iport4business to build additional features and functionality."

Iport4business is also providing software to Shaw Pipeline Services Inc. The company is piloting a new project management and scheduling system from a suite of software that is being developed for the oil and gas service sector. This application will help Shaw manage and control complex projects with rapidly shifting demands on manpower and equipment. The software will eventually be developed into an overall organization-wide portal solution.

"The opening of our office here and these two significant contracts cement the commitment we have to Houston and demonstrate that the iport4business suite of products can deliver a measurable business advantage to organizations in the oil and gas sector," Chic McSherry, CEO for iport4business.com, says.
